"Thanks and thanks again to Him who offers to the man whom the sorrows of life have assaulted and left naked–offers to him the fig leaf of the Word with which he can cover his wretchedness." -Søren Kierkegaard

Waco: Season 2

Posted in Day-To-Day, Friends by matt on Wednesday, August 11, 2010

We’re officially moved into Waco, and all I can think about is how fortunate we are to be here. I’d normally be writing some snarky, disgruntled comment about my former college town, but the past few weeks have sealed it: this is exactly where we’re supposed to be – no complaints!

An amazing sending church, perfect job offers, the provision of housing with old friends, and on and on. We’re richly blessed and grateful to be here.

The sweet 99 year-old house we share with 4 other people

The move to Waco also marks an increased intentionality with our fundraising, so, if you or anyone you know might be interested in learning more/supporting our upcoming work in Iraq, please send us an email (matt.willingham@gmail.com) and we’ll send you more info.

We’re planning trips to most of the major cities in Texas, so hopefully we’ll get a chance to catch up in person.

We’re also (slowly) transitioning our blogging from 2 separate blogs over to a shared blog. That doesn’t mean afigleaf is going away, but I will be putting it on the back burner for awhile while we shift focus. More on that to come.

In the meantime, happy trails to everyone and I hope to see you soon!
