Texas at Last

Posted in Day-To-Day, Travel by matt on Friday, May 1, 2009

We’re finally here!

And let me take a second to say that I really never intended for this to be some kind of personal travel blog. Cayla and I have just been traveling…a lot. So I guess that’s what ya get.

I enjoyed spending time with the Hall family and getting to know them better. Some of the finer, less obvious moments were the best of all: grilling, Halo 3 w/ Ryan, riding bikes, guitar lessons w/ John, tossing the dog just a bit too high into the air, and the list goes on. San Diego and time with Cayla’s side was fantastic; and I almost forgot to mention our wedding reception – and free tickets to Disneyland – and my brother and sister flying out here to visit!

Ya… I guess you could say it was really good.

But it’s so nice to be back in the great state of Texas. Family time and weddings galore will have us driving all over Texas for the next month, but I’m sure it’ll be worth it. Our schedule’s still mostly tentative because we’re hoping to optimize time with my family, but we should roll into Waco on May 12th. Still not sure how long we’ll be there, but we definitely wanna catch up with you. The Criners have graciously offered us their guest bedroom for the nights that we’re there. And I can’t wait to see Jon and Myka tie the knot!

And then, as if things haven’t already been superb enough, my beautiful sister is getting hitched toward the end of the month. Quite the climactic ending to our little trip around the world, wouldn’t you say?
